The District of Highlands is seeking a highly skilled, dedicated professional to join our team as the Manager of Finance/Deputy Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will ensure high quality accounting standards and practices for the District. Key responsibilities in this new permanent part-time position include stewarding the District’s financial sustainability through the preparation of the annual budget, financial and operational reporting, long term financial planning, financial statements and audit preparation, asset management financing, property taxation, purchasing, information technology leadership, and implementing best practices and systems to support the effective delivery of services.
What You Bring
Ideally, you have a degree in finance, business administration, commerce, or a related discipline and hold a Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Along with five years of progressive accounting and finance experience, you have considerable knowledge of general public sector accounting, finance and budgeting practices, particularly as they relate to a local government, and two years of supervisory experience.
This is a 0.6 FTE permanent position at this time offering a wage range of $74.88 - $79.52 per hour in addition to employer paid benefits. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, skills, and experience. Hours of work may vary based on operational requirements, with flexibility in scheduling to accommodate individual needs; this position may be eligible for some remote work.
