The District of Highlands is seeking a dedicated, organized, and community-focused Community Services Assistant to join our team. This permanent part-time position plays a key role in supporting a wide range of municipal services and is often the first point of contact for residents, businesses, and community groups. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of services across administration, communications, business licensing, bylaw compliance, facility rentals, finance, fire services, and emergency planning.

What You Bring
You are a highly organized, adaptable, and service-oriented professional who enjoys working with people and takes pride in providing responsive and professional customer service. You possess excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and can confidently manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
You demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, community groups, and external partners. Experience in administration, financial processing, records management, public communications, or local government operations will be considered an asset, along with a willingness to learn, contribute across multiple service areas, and support emergency preparedness and response activities when required.

This is a permanent part time position offering a wage of $36.23 per hour in addition to employer paid benefits. Hours of work may vary based on operational requirements.
