RE: 1943 MILLSTREAM ROAD
Proposed Motion: That staff be directed to invite the property owners and operators of the facility located at 1943 Millstream Road to an upcoming Council meeting to introduce themselves to Council and update Council on the change of operation and ownership of the site.
RE: CRD STAFF REPORT
Proposed Motion: That staff be directed to place the May 22, 2019 CRD staff report to the Parks and Environmental Committee entitled: Amendment to Millstream Meadows Capital Plan on the next Council Agenda.
RE: COMMUNITY HALL LANDSCAPE
Recommendation: That staff be given direction to construct Phase 1 of the garden and landscaping substantially as per the concept drawings attached to the Building Inspector’s report dated August 7, 2019, subject to ongoing consultation with professional gardeners and landscape designers, and including cleaning up Area 5 on the attached site map.
RE: MUNICIPAL INSURANCE ASSOCIATION - APPOINTMENTS OF VOTING DELEGATE AND ALTERNATES
Recommendation: That Council appoint a delegate and two alternates to vote on behalf of the District of Highlands at the Annual General Meeting of the Municipal Insurance Association of BC.
RE: REQUEST FOR PERMISSIVE TAX EXEMPTION - GREATER VICTORIA GREENBELT SOCIETY
Recommendation: That if Council wishes to consider a permissive tax exemption for the Greater Victoria Greenbelt Society properties:
That a bylaw be drafted, and appropriate public notification provided for the requested permissive tax exemption for properties owned by the Greater Victoria Greenbelt Society.
Motion: That Council move In Camera to discuss items specific to the Community Charter, specifically 90 (1) (k) negotiations and related discussions respecting the proposed provision of a municipal service that are at their preliminary stages and that, in the view of the council, could reasonably be expected to harm the interests of the municipality if they were held in public.
