RE:  TEMPORARY COVERAGE OF TAXI EXPENSES FOR COUNCIL COMMITMENTS
Recommendation:  That Councillor McLean’s taxi expenses be temporarily approved until (insert date), 2019 for Council appointed commitments including such committees as Coexisting with Carnivores Alliance, Greater Victoria Family Court Youth Justice Committee, and Intermunicipal Advisory Committee on Disability Issues, as per Council Remuneration and Expenses Bylaw, 400, 2018 (attached).

RE:  COMMUNITY HALL RENTAL WAIVER FOR HDCA AGM
HDCA is requesting a full fee waiver for the use of the community hall for its AGM on Thursday, April 25, 2019 from 5:30pm to 10pm.

RE:  CLIMATE EMERGENCY ACTION ITEMS
Recommendation:  That council direct staff to include the ICE tool on every staff report and rate the action to the best of their ability; and That council direct staff to write a letter to the CRD and to CRD municipalities informing them of Highlands climate emergency declaration, committing towards carbon neutrality by 2030, and the use of the ICE tool on every staff report. And further, to include the details of the ICE tool as an attachment to the letter.

Report – Approving Officer, March 27, 2019

RE:  AWARD OF CONTACT – RFP-2019-01 – GROUNDWATER PROTECTION IMPLEMENTATION AND WORK PLAN
Recommendation:  That, in relation to RFP-2019-01, staff be authorized to enter into an contract with Elucidate Consulting in the amount of $79,995.00 (including GST) to prepare a Groundwater Protection Implementation and Work Plan, and that the Mayor and Corporate Officer be authorized to execute the contract on behalf of the District.
